Dr. Apples’ Lazy Lounge follows an arcane wizard therapist whose interdimensional practice attracts clients with extraordinary identities and painfully ordinary problems. In the pilot, Dr. Apples counsels Mabel “Gums” Butterfield, an ex-Tooth Fairy profiting from questionable human remains and stolen dreams; Glorp, an alien horrified that his civilization’s sacred crawfish are a Louisiana delicacy; and Cal, a morally bankrupt sentient calorie plotting to monetize hunger.
Between sessions, psychic assistant Lacie manages the lobby as abnormal dimensional activity begins affecting the Lounge. When a mysterious package arrives despite Dr. Apples’ warning not to open unidentified deliveries, an accident exposes whatever is inside. Lacie keeps it from him, and by the end of the pilot, the Lounge itself is beginning to react.
