Jason, a struggling actor in his late 30s, prepares a last minute self-tape audition with the help of his longtime friend, Tyler. What begins as a routine audition becomes a quiet reckoning with rejection, self-doubt, and the fear of losing the one thing that gives Jason’s life meaning.
While performing a scene about an enslaved man begging to keep his love from being taken away, Jason’s performance blurs the line between character and self. The desperation in the role mirrors his own reality a man clinging to his passion for acting as opportunities slip further out of reach.
As the night comes to an end, Jason is forced to confront an uncomfortable truth: survival isn’t just about holding on, but about redefining who he is when the dream no longer looks the way it once did.
