Dignity in Rest: First Look Trailer
*Our History. Our Legacy. Our Final Resting Place.*
Where we rest matters.
"Dignity In Rest" is a powerful documentary exploring Black history, cultural identity, family, and the sacred right to choose where we spend eternity. Atlanta filmmaker and Blacktivist Cheryle Renee Moses embarks on a deeply personal journey in this documentary as she makes a decision about her own final resting place.
Known as Atlanta's African American City of the Dead, South-View Cemetery is more than a burial ground. It is a living testament to Black entrepreneurship, self-determination, resistance, and resilience. Within its grounds rest civil rights pioneers, business leaders, educators, freedom fighters, and everyday people whose lives helped shape Atlanta and America.
"Our ancestors fought for a place to rest. Their stories deserve a place in history."
